What materials are the portraits printed on?

We print every portrait on museum-quality, archival 200gsm heavy-weight fine art paper. The prints are made using acid-free, pigmented giclée inks, which are fade-resistant and guaranteed to keep your watercolor wash or pencil sketch line work vibrant and yellow-free.

Our frames are professionally built with high-quality wood molding (Natural Oak, Charcoal, and and Black), paired with a premium 2-inch 4-ply beveled mat board and a protective shatter-resistant acrylic cover to guard against UV fading.

What is the difference between my print size and the final frame size? The print size of 24" x 36" refers to the actual dimensions of the artwork print sheet itself. We add a mat board and frame that increases the overall wall space the hanging frame will occupy:

  • Print Only (No Frame): The dimensions are exactly the size of 24" x 36".

  • Frame with a 2-Inch Mat: A 2-inch wide border of premium mat board wraps around the print, adding 4 inches to both the width and height of the inner frame area. The outer frame dimensions will be approximately 5.5 inches larger than the original print size for a total wall space of ~29.5” x 41.5”.

How are these house portraits created?

We combine state-of-the-art technology with classic art aesthetics. When you upload a photo, our system uses a digital design pipeline incorporating advanced generative AI image models to transform your photo. This process preserves the precise structural details of your home (windows, rooflines, and features) while transforming the surfaces into a clean watercolor wash or black-and-white ink sketch. Each layout is then individually reviewed, scaled, and positioned by our production staff before printing, ensuring all details are present, and the maximum space is used, while allowing for a minimalistic look.
